Surgery Mini Album

Happy November! Today I have the cover of a new mini album I'm working on. I know I still need to post more pictures of the house warming mini, but I haven't taken the pictures yet. Between being sick and taking care of our dog post surgery and all of the other usual things, I haven't had much time in my craft room. I was able to start this new album though. I wanted to get it done before Scooter (our dog) goes back to the vet for his check-up. His doctor loves him so I thought she might like to see how spoiled he has been during his recovery.

For the album itself I used a couple of chipboard books from the dollar spot at Michaels. One book was square and the other book was rectangular with scalloped ends. I combined them by alternating the pages. All of the materials used came from my stash, including the books. I bought them months ago (maybe even last year) just in case....

The patterned paper is by Piggy Tales and the solid cardstock is just what I had laying around. I think all of it except the blue title background was from my old scraps. The barb wire ribbon I thought was perfect to represent stitches. I've had it for a couple of years. I love it, but couldn't figure out a way to use it until now.

The dog is from Back Yard Barbeque. The dog house is from Everyday Paper dolls. Surgery and the sling are from Dr Check Up. Scooter is from Boys will be Boys and the blue background tag is from Art Philosophy pg 45. For the grass I used a Martha Stewart icicle punch.

Once I get some of the pictures developed from Scooters surgery and recovery I'll be able to finish the inside pages. Be back soon.

Cone of Shame

Happy April 1st. The start of another month. I think it's a good time to get focused again. I've been slacking off lately and need to get back to the crafts I love.
To start off the month I'd like to share a two page layout I did of my doggie. Sorry there's a glare on the photos. I didn't notice until I downloaded my pictures to the computer.

We have this big 130 lb Bullmastiff and two 12 lb cats. One cat loves the dog, as you can see in the 3rd picture. They were watching t.v. together. The other cat totally despises him. She won't go after him and start anything, but if he gets too close to her she will make it clear to him that he should back off. Fortunately the dog has learned to stay a paws strike away from her. UN-fortunately it took a scratch to the eye and 3 trips to the vet before he learned it. He was so humiliated when he had to wear the cone around his neck to keep him from rubbing his eye.  I may have to add a picture of the perpetrator cat to the right side of the layout. For now I'm calling it done.

I couldn't wait to post

I added pictures, a title and some Cricut cuts. I'm really pleased with the way this layout looks. The pictures are from over a year ago when my Nephew was turning 8. (I'm very behind) I still need to add journaling on the bottom of the right hand side, but I'll do that later. For now I'm calling it done.

Okay, now I'm off to do some more layouts. Tomorrow I get off work early and should have more time to play.

Cricut Circle Swarm In Utah

Yay, it's finally here. The Cricut Circle Swarm in Utah. A couple of girls from the Circle Message Board came up with a great idea of adding a layout or sign or something to our hotel room doors so that everyone can see our excitement for the weekend. This is a picture of the layout I did. I made the Circle Logo with my Gypsy. The paper dolls represent me and my sister. They were made at 5" from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. The font is from the new Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cartridge. I am so excited that I am able to go to Utah for the swarm and to spend a couple of days with my nieces. They have no idea we will be flying in to surprise them. I will post pictures from the swarm when I get back home. Have a great weekend everyone.  

Cheerleading Layout

Hello everyone. I know I haven't been posting as much as I should lately. I've been a little lazy, but trying to be better. This is a layout using Everyday Paperdolls. My nieces are both cheerleaders and I had a wonderful day watching them perform. My older niece Jasmine was crowned Homecoming Queen and I was very happy that I could be there to celebrate with her.

B is for Boy layout

Okay, so I went back to Wal Mart and got the baby cartridges: B is for Boy and Sugar and Spice. So far I've only opened B is for Boy. My biggest reason for buying this cartridge was for the Flintstone car. My boys had one forever and loved to ride in it. What great memories. So of course that was the first thing I had to cut out. The car was cut at 4 1/2 inches, the dump truck at 2 1/2 inches, the airplane at 2 1/2 inches and the Boys will be Boys was cut at 3 1/2 inches. The clouds (cut at 2") and the Dirt (12" wide) were cut from the Every Day Paper Dolls cartridge.

County Fair Critters

These are a couple of layouts I did for thed LID girls challenge on the Cricut Message Board. These pictures are from the Alameda County Fair. I used Don Juan font and the Paper Dolls cartridges on these layouts.

Expo Card - reminder

Okay, here's the last one for the day. Again with the Scrapbook Expo theme. Same girlies (My sister, soon to be daughter in law and myself). This is a card I made to send to my sister to remind her to take the day off work for the Expo.

Scrapbook Expo

Scrapbook Expo in Sacramento, CA is right around the corner. I made this layout in anticipation of taking some pictures while I'm there. I can hardly wait. I have my shopping list ready!

Feel better soon

Happy Thursday everyone! I am so far behind that I'm going to post a few things today. My Uncle was not feeling well recently and I had been wanting to make a get well card like this for a long time. I think the bed and everything came out really cute. All cuts are from EDPD except the lettering. The doll and the pillow are cut at 4" and the bed is cut at 5". The font is Plantin Schoolbook cut at 1"

Purrrfect Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone! Today is my Friday, so I'm super happy. Tomorrow I'll be at the Oakland A's game with my hubby's business - having a big customer appreciation day. I'll be the photographer - so lots of pictures! Today I'm posting a card that I made last night. I've seen these Tri-shutter cards on line and had to try one. I still need a little practice, but love the concept. This one will be for my SIL. Hope she likes it.

Soccer Girl

Here's another Everyday PD card. I made this one for a co-workers daughter that plays soccer. It seems like every week they're going somewhere for a game or a tournament. Hope she likes it. Thanks for looking.

Nurse Card

Love, love, love the new Everyday Paper Dolls Cart. It has everyone! I made this card for my sister. She works at a hospital full time and is also going to school to further her education. She doesn't get much spare time and certainly not enough time for crafting. The inside of the card says, "You deserve a break today". Of course I mean a break to have craft time - not a broken leg or anything. Heehee.

Celebrate Love
