Anniversary card for my Hubby

So I'm a day late on this one, but this is an anniversary card I made for my Hubby. I thought this giraffe was the cutest little thing and thought it was perfect for what I wanted to convey. Hope he likes it.

Alameda County Fair 2009

This was from July 2009 when we went to the Alameda County Fair. The "Guys" gave their best effort to riding the mechanical bull. The youngest of the bunch, Christopher, stayed on the longest and did the best. Normally the saying would be, "mess with the bull and you'll get the horns", but with a mechanical bull you just get thrown off and land on the cushioned mat. Much safer.

LID Challenge Week 4

This is a layout I did for the LID challenge on the Cricut Message Board this week. I used Storybook to cut out the scallop background and Don Juan for the title. These pictures are from August when my son moved back home temporarily.

Our Anniversary

Our Anniversary! 22 years and still in Love. We had such a nice day. I woke up to Mike giving me a computer (my very own!) and then we went to lunch at a new restaurant. I couldn't believe it. The only restaurant I've ever been to where they give you dessert first. For those of you who don't know me, my motto has always been... Life is short, eat dessert first! Okay so they didn't really give you dessert first, but it seemed that way to me. As soon as you're seated they bring out a basket of steaming hot sweet rolls and a little tub of butter. But this was no ordinary tub of butter. It was CINNAMON BUTTER! Tastes like dessert first to me!

LID Challenge

This is another two page layout I did with the LID (Laying It Down) girls challenge over on the Cricut Message board. The sketch was just for one page (the one on the left), but I always like to do two page spreads. I've had this paper and punch-out embellishments laying around my scrapbook room for about a year. I'm so happy to have finally used it.The title circle was cut using the Cricut George Cartridge. The title was cut using my new Don Juan cartridge. I was able to get it using the Cricut reward points and I love it.

It's Friday! This is a two page layout I did for a challenge over on the Cricut Message Board for the LID  (Laying It Down) girls. I am having such a good time with the weekly sketches. It's always a lot of fun when Friday comes around and the new sketches are posted. These are pictures of my youngest niece, Steele. I used the Cricut Storybook cartridge for the title.

Hawaii Mini Album

So today is Wednesday and I think I'm almost fully recovered from the weekend. My baby Sis came over for the weekend to scrapbook and work on her album for Hawaii. We stayed up until almost 3:00 am working on this not-so-mini- mini album of hers and then she got up early Sunday and started working on it again. 16 hours of work (with two people) and it's still not completely done. She still needs to write on the journaling tags, but at least the "creative" part of it is done.

Hawaii Mini additional pages

Here are some inside pages for the Hawaii album. Under the airplane is a mini album (inside the mini album!) that opens and is filled with the plane tickets to and from Hawaii. On the right hand side the mini license plate lifts up and yet another set of pictures can be viewed in book form. I hope that makes sense. I don't know how else to explain it.

More Hawaii Mini

Here are some more pages from inside Michelle's Hawaii album. We had so much fun putting this mini album together, but I must say - for a mini it wasn't very mini! We had to add a thick black ribbon to hold it closed.

Woohoo, it's Thursday!

Okay, it's not Friday, but it's the day before Friday. It's Friday Eve! I love Fridays. Fridays are MY days. I either have the day off work or I get off at 11:30 - which leaves me plenty of time with the house to myself to clean and get crafty. (There's usually more crafting going on than cleaning. Shhhhh... don't tell my hubby) Every Thursday when I wake up I tell myself, "Woohoo, it's Thursday", which really means, "Woohoo, tomorrow's Friday!" This weekend should be extra fun. My sister Michelle is coming over to scrapbook with me and we always have a great time. We get Starbucks and usually stay up most of the night scrapbooking and laughing. We don't even know what we laugh about, but there's always a lot of laughing and of course chit chat. Somehow we get a few layouts done as well. I am really looking forward to it. Stay tuned for Monday when I post some of our accomplishments.

Graduation Party

This is a two page layout that I did for a scrapbook challenge on the Cricut Messageboard. It was a lot of fun. I'm going to try to do the challenge every week, so I'll hopefully get more pages done this year. These pictures are from Christopher's Graduation Party. We had a house and a yard full of people, but it was a lot of fun. Graduation is a big deal and I really appreciate all of our family and friends that made it to the party.

Class of '09

Woohoo, Graduation time. Now I don't have any kids in highschool anymore. Christopher has decided to go to our local Junior College so that he can get his general ed out of the way and then transfer to a bigger college. Not to mention he'll still have the comforts of home!

July 4, 2009

This is a layout from the 4th of July, 2009. It was my first time doing a mosaic layout and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I love the possibilities though and will definitely try this again.

Big Girl Panties

This is a card for my Mother in Law. She doesn't like having her birthday and never wants to celebrate, so I thought this was perfect for her. Hopefully she appreciates the humor and doesn't throw it at me! I used Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge for the undies, Celebrations for the balloons and Alphalicious for the font.

Big Girl Panties

This is the inside of the card and even though it's only words it's my favorite part because it makes me laugh every time I read it.

How many fingers

Is this one cool cat or what? I found these rubber stamps at Michael's craft store and thought they were too cute. I also love that I was able to use my glittery markers again. Too bad it doesn't show up very well in the picture. I really should start using my camera instead of my phone for these pictures.

A Little Birdie Told Me...

I love this cute little bird from the Home Decor cartridge. I also cuttlebugged the background.

A Little Birdie Told Me...

This is the inside of the birdie card.

Eat More Cake

A birthday card for my friend Lisa. I used my new glittery markers that I got for Christmas from my son Michael and his fiance Robin. Love them.

Another Year

Sorry the picture is blurry. That's what happens when I take the picture late at night with my cell phone. This is another birthday card for my Mom.

Who says 60's old?

Another card for my Mom. She doesn't know it yet, but pretty soon she's going to start getting a card every week until her birthday in April. As it gets closer I'll start sending them closer together, maybe one every day if I can come up with that many ideas. I used the owl and the letter "L" from Cricut Storybook on this one (my Mom's name starts with an "L")

Who says 60's old?

This is the inside of the owl card for my Mom.

29 Again?

Happy Birthday to my Uncle Steve. My birthday is the same day as his, so it's easy to remember. I used Celebrations and Alphalicious Cricut Cartridges for this card.

29 Again?

Just a fun and simple birthday card. I made a red version for my Mom (turning 60) and a blue version for my Uncle. I used Celebrations Cricut Cartridge for the balloons and Alphalicious cartridge for the font.
Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.
