Glitter Ornaments and a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone. I wanted to come by real quick and share a picture of my Christmas ornaments I made for the family. I used the floor wax method and Martha Stewart glitter. Once that was done I used my Cricut to cut out everyones name with vinyl.

I used Quarter Note for the font on the girls names. For the boys names I used A Child's Year. Super easy to do and a fun project for kids.
I orded the wooden dowel tree off the internet. I think I will change out the star and use the stand year round for the holidays. Change to a bunny and it's an instant Easter tree. A clover and it's St. Patricks Day!

I'm not sure if you can see the little envelopes on some of the ornaments or not. I cut them out using the Walk in my Garden Cricut cartridge. I'll add a little something inside for the kiddos.

 

 

A little glue dot on the top to keep it closed and then tied to the bulb.

Bloom and Grow Layout

Monday again. I hope everyone enjoyed the Blog Hop on Saturday. I had a lot of fun hopping along with everyone. I wanna say Thank You to LB for hosting. I will be posting the winner to the blog candy later.
For now I'd like to share another layout I started at the Rocklin Circle Crop back in June. The girls are from A Child's Year. The words Grow and Bloom are from Kate's ABCs. Once I got that done I felt like it still needed something so I added the flowers from my stash and then put a dot of Viva Decor Pearl Pen in the middle of each.

Yesterday was spent in the yard cleaning, trimming bushes and trees, and making plans for future projects. We had a dog run in the far corner of the yard that wasn't being used anymore, so I took part of that down. Already the yard looks a lot bigger and cleaner. I guess this layout just made me want to get out and do some yard work. I really like to do yard work, but not when it's too hot or too cold. LOL. Yesterday was perfect and I got a lot done. Of course now my whole body hurts! It might take me  a couple of days to feel up to scrapbooking again. Heehee. Thanks for stopping by. Cindy

Worth the Weight

This is a pretty simple layout. I used New Arrival for the pregnant lady, cut at 3.5". The title was cut from a Child's Year at 2". These are really old photos from when I was pregnant with my second son (almost 20 years ago). I was almost 9 months pregnant. We had just moved to our first house during the worst heat wave of the year and we had no air conditioning. It was torture. My son and I went to the local mall just to cool off. I'm having fun going through all of these old pictures. I'm not sure where all the time went, but it sure went fast.

Happy "Birth" Day

Hello. I know I've been slacking on my posts this week.  I have been doing some layouts, but haven't finished them. I'm not sure I'm done with this one either, but I feel bad for not posting anything in awhile so here it is. If I add anything to it I will come back and edit my post.     I covered a few of the photos because I don't think I looked my best in the delivery room and nobody wants to see that. Haha. These are old pictures of my second son when he was born 19 years ago. I decided it was time to get his baby book done. Yes, I'm a little behind. I did have the pictures in an album, but it was the old magnetic kind and the photos were really showing their age. I'm taking them all out, scanning them and putting them in a new photosafe album. I used Nursery Rhymes for the baby at 2 1/2" and the It's a Boy cut was at 2". The title was cut at 2" from A Childs Year.Once I get my photoshop program (and learn to use it) I will do my best to fix these photos.  In the mean time I will keep plugging away at the layouts. I hope to have more layouts more often so check back often. Cindy

Lil Stinker layout

Another Campin' Critters layout for you today. As you can see I'm still in baby mode. When I saw this little skunk coming out of the outhouse with the toilet paper I instantly thought of this layout. One of the funniest  things being a grandma is seeing my son change his daughters first dirty diapers. I thought he was really going to get sick. He also swears that he's getting a rash everytime the baby spits up on him! Yep, this is my kind of entertainment. Once I get them developed I will add the pictures of my son changing diapers. You know, the lil stinky ones. Haha. Hope you find the humor in this like I do.

Another Thanksgiving card

If you saw yesterdays post you know that when I think of Thanksgiving I think of Pumpkin Pie. I also think of homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Yes, I love everything pumpkin. Hmmm, maybe I'll have a pumpkin Latte tomorrow morning instead of caramel.

So, todays card features an image from a Childs Year that reminds me of everything baked. I'm not the cook in my family (that would be my hubby), but I do like to bake a few things. The paper is from Paper Trey Ink and the sentiment is from SP & Company.

Fall colored in Pink

I really stretched my imagination on this one, but I like how it turned out. I combined two challenges this week in order to come up with this layout.On the Circle message board the challenge was to make a card or layout that has to do with Fall. On the Cricut message board in the layout section there is a LID challenge by Bearylish to use a sketch that she made. In her sketch the she showed a flower instead of a leaf, but the rest of the first page is pretty close to what she had. I was thinking about what I would be doing this fall. Of course there are the usual things like Halloween and Thanksgiving, but this year I will be expecting my very first grandbaby. She will also be the first girl in our family, so of course everything will have to be PINK. For this layout I used a lot of different cartridges. I used A Child's Year for all the fonts, the postage stamp background was made from Sweethearts, the circles were made from George and Basic Shapes, the buggy is from Graphically Speaking and the leaves and leaf corners are from Straight From The Nest.

Cricut Circle Calling Cards

Anyone going to the Cricut Circle Swarm in Utah? It's only a month away and I'm trying to come up with a calling card to hand out that represents me. Merry Christmas

Another Christmas layout made from A Child's Year cartridge. I think the layout needs more added to it, but I want to wait until I decide on the pictures before I do anything else.

I'm starting on Christmas in August because that's how far behind I am. The next few Christmas layouts will be for 2009 pictures. At least I will be working  on 2010 pictures after I get done with Christmas 2009. For this layout I used A Childs Year.

Sugar and Spice cartridge

Okay, so today was the day to play with the new Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite cartridge. This is a really cute cartridge and I have big plans to use it a lot. My son and his wife are expecting their first baby. We don't know if it's a boy or girl yet so today's projects were just practice. On the layout I cut the stork at 4", the tag at 6" and the Baby Girl part of the title at 1 1/2". The Welcome part of the title was cut using A Child's Year cartridge at 2 1/2".

She wears her heart on her nose!

I finally got some time to do some scrapbooking this week for the LID Challenge on the Cricut Messageboard. I just got these pictures developed of Starlet. She was helping me scrapbook and checking everything out. When she looked up at me I noticed she had a red heart stuck to her nose. It was so cute I snapped a picture and then carried her into the family room and asked my son to take another picture in case mine didn't turn out. It was so cute. I love these pictures. I used a heart from the Sweethearts cartridge and the font is from A Child's Year cartridge.

Party Guests

I am getting so much done today. I love it when I get to scrap all day. I used A Child's Year for the font on this page. I really like this cartridge now that I have it. When I bought it I didn't even know it had a font. The other items on the page are chipboard pieces that I've had laying around for a year or more. The papers are all from the DCWV Cafe Mediterranean stacks.

Water Boy

I am loving my new Cricut cartridges. They're actually older releases that I thought I didn't need, but I have been wrong before. There was a great sale on cartridges with no tax or shipping costs, so I took a second look and couldn't resist.  I used Graphically Speaking for Water Boy and A Child's Year for the date, name and boy with the hose.

Sick Chic

I made this layout of my niece Brianna. She had come over to visit on her birthday and wasn't feeling well. Poor Bri. Not the way you want to spend your birthday. I used Create A Critter for the sun and chick. Stretch Your Imagination for the tree and I used Forever Young for the words sick chic. I also used A Childs Year for Happy Birthday. Wow, I didn't realize until just now how many cartridges I used on this one layout. That's the really nice thing about the Gypsy, you don't have to worry about swapping out cartridges so it makes it much easier to use as many as you want.

16th Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for my niece Jasmine. I used the Forever Young cartride for the front and the Childs Year cartridge for the font on the inside. The eyes in the word LOOK are from Graphically Speaking. I thought they were just too cute to pass up.
