Painting, Swimming and Crafting

Busy busy weekend. Right after work on Friday I went to a friends house to help with some party favors. After that I went to my son and daughter-in-laws house to help paint and cut vinyl for the baby's room.
We cut out the baby's name and some butterflies for the walls, but first we had to paint.

After painting we had to put the vinyl on the Cricut mat for cutting.

Push the load paper button to load the vinyl into the Cricut.

Design the cuts on the Gypsy.

Concentration.

And then you add the vinyl to the wall.

On the opposite wall we added butterflies, from dark to light, going up the wall.

After all the hard work it's time for some swimming.

I hope you all had a good weekend and spent some time doing what you love.

Row row row your Boat

Another kayaking layout. Yes, I take a lot of pictures. LOL.

Update: I added a couple more things to the layout because it looked too plain to me. Here's the updated picture:

The kayak we rented was for two people and as you can see from the pictures we added an extra picture. Part of the fun was being worried that we were going to tip over or sink! My niece, nephew and son had a lot of fun working together at paddling.

The letters were all cut with the Cricut cartridge When I was a Kid. The kayak and paddle were cut from the Camp Out cartridge.

Beach Day

Our first time riding in a kayak and we had a blast. It was so much fun spending the day with the family.

For the lady in the inner tube I used the Fun in the Sun cartridge by Cricut. The letters for Safety First and Beach Day were cut from the new Cricut cartridge called When I was a Kid.

The background paper on this on this double layout was made using plain blue cardstock and then I used a background stamp to make the darker blue dots. This was the first time I've made my own background paper and I think it adds a little something extra to plain paper. It's not perfect, but that's okay.

The striped paper, yellow and red papers are from Simple Stories and the solid cardstock are from Stampin' Up.

A camping we will go...

I finally got some layouts done. Boy, it has been a long time. I really do miss scrapbooking and wish I had more time for it. I also enjoy having a pack of coordinated papers so I don't have to think about things matching. For this layout I used a pack from Simple Stories.

I think I need to add something to the right side, but I didn't want to cover up the boot prints on the paper. Hmmmm, I'll have to play with it a little more tonight. The cute little Boston Terrier belongs to my sister. Her name is Lily Lou Bug. Isn't she adorable?

All of the papers and embellishments are from Simple Stories except the solid background and the picture mats. Those are just pieces from my stash.

Paint and Trim

Happy Hump Day! I have just a little update on how I spent my Labor Day... doing manual labor! Husband and I headed out to Home Depot bright and early to get trim and paint for Khloë's room at our house. I had already painted it pink, but wanted to add some green in the mix. Here's a "before" picture.

It was cute with a soft pink and her name in vinyl. Just a little too plain for my taste. I love crown molding, but wanted to do something a little different. Here's a picture after we got the trim on the wall.

Next I painted above the trim and the ceiling a light green.

And the last picture I have for the day is after I put the banner up I made for Khloë. I still have some decorating to do, but until I find some pictures I like it will stay like this. I also have to hang her curtains back up.

The colors in this last picture are really muted. I guess the sun had already passed over the house by the time I got done. The third picture is the closest to the real color. I hope she likes it when she sees it.
Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.
