Day Two of Baby Shower Decorations

I'm back with more pictures from the Baby Shower.

At the front door we had a display for donations to treat the mommy-to-be with a spa day and mommy massage.

Hanging from the food table I made a banner that says: YUMMIES. I used Birthday Bash for the banner pieces and Feeling Groovy for the letters.

I also made banners that said: Drinks, food and treats.

The next two pictures show the patio area where we set up the tables and chairs. It was a beautiful California day with perfect weather.

The hostess ordered this four wheeler diaper display because the Mom and especially the Dad love to ride their 4 wheelers. My son LOVED it. Isn't it adorable?

I ordered pencils from Oriental Trading with the baby's name on them for the guests to used for the games.

Baby Shower Decorations

Did you miss me? It's been a month since my last post. I've been busy with the baby shower decorations and didn't want the Mommy-to-be to see them before the shower, so I couldn't put them on my blog. We had the shower this past Saturday and everything turned out perfect so I have lots of pictures to share.

Centerpieces were umbrellas in clay pots that were spray painted lavender and then covered in baby diapers. Inside the pots were lots of Cricut cuts on sticks.

I used decorative tape to cover the pvc pipe holding the umbrellas. I also used the same tape to wrap the water bottles. Then I hung Crystal Light on the outside for anyone that wanted to flavor their water.

 

The favors were little boxes that held Hershey's Hugs and Kisses.

Another favor we made for the guests were little bottles of hand and foot scrub. I attached a tag that says, "Thank you from baby and me" and then I hung a hand and foot that I made using Shrinky Dinks. The little butterfly on the Hershey Nuggets were made using a Stampin' Up punch.

Crafting Day with the Kiddos

Hello crafty friends. Today I want to share some pictures of how I spent my day last Saturday. I am so lucky to live within driving distance of my sweet grand-daughter, who is almost 2 years old. I packed up my car first thing in the morning with my craft supplies and hit the road to see my favorite girl and two of her friends.

Before the big day came I made t-shirts for the three girls.

I had bought the t-shirts a couple of months ago when they were on sale at Michael's Craft Store. The vinyl has been in my stash for awhile. It was left over from some t-shirts I made for a friend. The font is from the Cricut cartridge Feeling Groovy.

Teagan will be one next week, Hailey just turned three and Khloë will be 2 next month. I had so much fun spending the day with them. Of course it was hard to keep up with them. They are FAST! Thank goodness their mommies were there to help.

Khloë was very excited to get started with the crafts.

The plan (haha, does that ever work with a 1, 2 and 3 year old?) was to make Christmas tree pictures with their hand prints and a footprint. It was actually a lot of fun and the kids had a great time. Each of the kids waited for their turn (well, maybe a little impatiently). And the end result was a great day making memories and beautiful pictures.

You Make Me Happy

Well, I'm slowly getting some scrapbook pages done. Its hard to juggle everything I have going on right now with the bathroom floor being tiled, working, preparing for a house-warming party and still trying to get some layouts done, but I'm getting there. The good news is that the floor is coming along. I just finished grouting the tile. I have to wait 10-20 minutes for the grout to firm up before I can go over it with a wet sponge. That means I have just enough time to share todays layout :-)

I started out with papers from Piggy Tales. The flowers were from my stash. I used buttons from the dollar spot at Michael's Craft Store and tied them with twine that I got in a twine share. The word Smile is from the Going Places cartridge and was cut at 2 1/2". The words You make me Happy were cut at 1 1/4" from the Feeling Groovy cartridge.

The large scallop rectangle on the left side was cut at 11" from Art Philosophy. The circles cut with the tulip flower paper were cut at 7" and 3", also from Art Philosophy. I love that cartridge. It is so useful.

These pictures definitely make me smile. Khloë was having so much fun acting silly. The more I laughed the funnier she thought it was and it went around and around. Babies are so limber it amazes me. In the bottom picture you can see her foot up in the air. Every time she lifted her sippy cut to drink her foot went up. It was the funniest thing. In the top right picture it's hard to see but her foot is up by her chin. Yes, that's her foot!

Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to share some pictures of my new and improved bathroom. There's still more to do though. After the floor is finished I want to paint, put new baseboards on, install a new sink/cabinet and then re-install the good ol' toilet. See you back here soon.

Vinyl Project

Hello friends. I was able to spend a little time in my scraproom this afternoon. I have quite a few projects to do, but not a lot of time these days. I'm glad I can scratch one thing off my list. I saw this quote a while back and have been anxious to put it somewhere. Over the weekend I hung a rail on my wall behind the door to hang my high heels. I was keeping them in the boxes, but they took up too much room. I have another rail to put up, but for now this is what I have.

This is not the best picture because I took it with my phone, but I couldn't wait to post it. The weather has been really bad today too, so it makes it hard to get a good picture. I'll try to take a better one tomorrow.

For Cinderella I used one of the fonts from the Cricut Calligraphy cartridge. For the rest of the quote I used Cricut Feeling Groovy. I used my Gypsy, Expression and a 24 inch mat to make it as big as I could. I used the Gypsy to weld the letters together in Cinderella.

Tomorrow my goal is to cut vinyl for champagne glasses for a friend. Wish me luck.

When Life Hands You Lemons

As a mom and now a grandma I love to watch little kids as they explore and learn new things. I enjoy the innocence and the amazement when they discover something new. The little voices, big smiles and infectious giggles can't be beat. I cherish every moment I get to spend with my little Khloë.

The layout I just finished includes pictures from St. Patrick's Day. We had gone out to lunch with the family and were enjoying a nice meal when Khloë discovered lemons in a dish on the table. She loves all kinds of fruits so I'm sure she was expecting something sweet. To her dismay it was not at all SWEET.

Khloë was such a good sport. She didn't like it, but as soon as she was able to have a drink and wash away the sour taste she was back to her normal smiley self.

For this layout I used another pagemaps sketch. Here is a picture of it:

The sketch is a single page, so I was on my own for the coordinating page. The papers are a mix of Creative Memories, Cardstock and Echo Park. The lemon was cut at 3" from the Paisley cartridge. The scallop edges were cut at 1 1/2" from the Art Philosophy cartridge and the title was cut at 1 1/2" from the Feeling Groovy cartridge.

This weekend is Easter and I'm sure I'll have a lot more photos to scrapbook and memories to record.

Bridal Shower layout

Wow, I am really late at getting this layout posted. I had it finished a couple of days ago, but just got the pictures downloaded to my computer.

I'm taking a  little break from my scrap pile to work on some pictures from last year. I am so behind on my scrapbooking. It's nice that I'm getting so many layouts done, but sometimes I have to pick paper to match the photos. In this case I used a cornflower blue, black and white. Those were the colors for my son and daughter in laws wedding. The Pagemaps 2 sketch is from page 28.

The thing that took the most time with this sketch was cutting all the photo mats to the right size. I wanted to use white for the mats, so I inked the edges to make them stand out from eachother. The heart cuts are from the Storybook cartridge. The scallop circle is also from Storybook. The circle inside the scallop circle is from George.

The pictures are from the Bridal Shower for my Daughter in Law. I scrap in chronological order so that means I am almost up to May 2010. Not too bad, right? Well, I'm also trying to go back to my OLD photos (prior to scrapbooking) and get them out of magnetic albums. Those go back about 20 years!

The font on the top of the page is from the Cricut Lite Cartridge Feeling Groovy. The font on the bottom is one of my new favorites. It is from Quarter Note. I actually bought that cartridge because I liked the font so much. You'll be seeing a lot more of this one from me. Cindy

First Day layout

Another layout done for my son's baby album. I used a few different cartridges for this one. The large scallop circle was cut at 10" from Storybook, the large circles were cut at 8.5" and 7.75" from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and the title, Christopher, was cut at 1.75" from the Feeling Groovy cartridge.

These are pictures from the first day after the first night at home. I think Daddy may have needed a nap too.  Come back tomorrow to see another Imagine project. Cindy

First Imagine project

I got my Imagine last week and I'm slowly learning how to use it. So far I already LOVE it. I made this "get well" card for my little grand-daughter Khloe. She's only 12 weeks old and has her first ear infection. Poor baby. I wish a kiss from Grandma could take it all away. Luckily her mommy took her to the doctor right away and got her some medicine. She is feeling a little better already.
Okay, back to the card. The number one reason I chose to buy an Imagine machine (besides the awesome sale at Cricut.com) was because of my Grand-daughter and the Nursery Tails cartridge. I think the artwork on this cartridge is the most beautiful I have seen. I used it to make this card. I wasn't sure how to set the size so the layers cut out at the default size (I think 2"). The sentiment is from the Fun and Fast Notes stamp set by Stampin' Up.

For the inside of the card I added another butterfly and dragonfly from the Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge. Then I used my Exprssion to cut out "Khloe" with the Feeling Groovy Lite cartridge. I didn't want to spend so much money for a Lite cartridge, but I think it really is my all-time favorite font.

I hope my little Khloe bug feels better quickly and that she likes the card I made her.
