Swingsets, cabinets and a puppy, oh my!

Boy, was it a busy weekend. I am sore from head to toe.  It was a non-stop working weekend thats for sure. As soon as I got off work on Friday I drove to my son and daughter-in-law's for the weekend. My son was at gone for a bachelor party for the weekend so us girls decided to do some yard work and put Khloë's swing set together.  We started by rototilling the ground so that we could level it.

We bought some black weed barrier material and 35 bags of rubber bark. After rototilling we leveled the ground as much as we could and then put down the weed barrier. This is Khloë hammering in the stakes to hold the barrier down.

Some of the 35 bags of rubber bark.

And this is what it's all about.

After the swing set was done and some other random yard work, I made the trip to Ikea. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted and that I would be in and out in a snap. Well, it didn't work quite that way. Once I saw the white Expedit bookshelves I realized they weren't white white. I was liking the dark brown/black ones better.

I stayed with my original plan though and got two of the white units. Made it home and as I was pulling into the drive way I saw a puppy running in the middle of the street about 8 houses away. I ran down the street and scooped this scared puppy up that by this time was hiding under a car. I took it home after asking a couple of the neighbors if it was theirs.

I will put some flyers out, contact the newspaper, the animal shelters and the veterinarians in the area to see if anyone is looking for her.

I also got two of my cabinets put together for the upstairs bonus room, but not the two bookshelves. After running around today looking for puppy owners I will get back to the bookshelves. So, that was my weekend in a nutshell.

Scrapbook Expo Goodies

I may have gotten a little carried away with my shopping last week. Before I got to the Expo I told myself, "I don't really NEED anything". I did want to look at some Simple Stories papers if they had any for Project Life, but that was about it......

As you can see there are NO Simple Stories papers, but there IS a LOT of other stuff. I think the first booth I went to had these cute Mickey Mouse bags that were free if you spend $25, so what did I do? Of course I spent $25! The bag is barely visible on the left side of the picture. And "no" I didn't NEED the bag either. LOL.

You can't tell in the picture, but the tulle has little sparklies on it. It's really pretty and if I get brave enough I might try to make Khloë a tutu for her Gymnastics class.

I got 6 of these 6x6 paper pads to use in my Project Life along with lots of embellishments to go with them.

I also got adhesive because you know I'll be needing that.

And of course some stamps that I can use in Project Life or for cards. I love the people stamps. You can't see it in the picture, but there's a dog that goes with them too. Very cute.

And just so you know it's not all fun and games, here's a picture of me working. Painting the bonus room in preparation  for new cabinets.

My Life Monday - Week 9

Helloooooo Spring! Well, I don't think it's officially Spring yet, but our weather feels like it lately. It has been absolutely beautiful with temperatures in the 70's. It's been so nice that I think I caught a case of the Spring cleaning bug. I have so many cleaning and organizing projects going on right now that I have to force myself to stay focused on one thing at a time.

Week 9 started out with a good mail day. I got my order of Project Life page protectors. I really needed them so that I could get this week done. Then, my cleaning started with getting my son's non-working car out of the garage and towed away. We donated it to Kars for Kids. That gave me room to work and pull things out of the cabinets in the garage.

It's crazy how one thing leads to another. Cleaning up the yard leads to planting flowers. Warm weather is leading us to fixing up a play yard for Khloë and ordering a swing set. Cleaning the garage and making more room for storage lead me to reclaiming space in our upstairs bonus room. It's all still "in progress", but I love what we've been able to do so far.

Another thing I needed to get done this week is the banner and glasses for a friends wedding in April. The first vinyl mustache I cut out was a little too small so I stuck it on Christopher and took a picture. Hmmmm, maybe a mustache is not the best look for him. LOL.

Here is a picture of both pages together.

A close up of the banner.

Friday and Saturday I was able to go to our local Scrapbook Expo and came home with some goodies. I'll try to take pictures and get them on the computer so I can share tomorrow.  Enjoy your week.

My Life Monday - Week 8

I'm falling behind. Yikes! Where does the time go? I feel like I have 101 things to do and no time to do them. I'm trying my hardest to stay up to date with my Project Life, but we're now at the end of the day and I'm just now getting pictures on the computer.

My week isn't as decorated as I'd like, but at least it's done. I got my Cricut Mini delivered, I got my nails done and I even got some of my Cricut handbooks added to my Kindle Fire this week.

On Friday I got a pretty new purse (-:  My other purse was starting to break at the strap so it was time and there just happened to be a great sale going on at the Coach Factory Store. Yay me!

The bottom left picture is Scooter after getting his manicure/pedicure. Yeah, he's smiling now, but not so much when I was clipping his nails. LOL.

Well, that's all I got this week. I don't see things getting any less hectic around here, so my goal is to just stay above water. This Friday and Saturday should be lots of fun though. I have a Scrapbook Expo to visit. I wonder what kind of trouble I'll get into.....

My Life Monday - Week 7

Hello and Happy Monday. Another week and another month. I can hardly believe it's March already. Looking back on week 7 I realize we've had a lot going on though. The week started out with the arrival of my new Kindle Fire. Yahooo! Now I just need to learn how to use it. I've put a few of the Cricut handbooks on it already and plan on putting some YouTube videos on it for when I don't have internet access.

The girlscouts were also out in full force this week. I bought three boxes of cookies in front of our local grocery store and also ordered three boxes from a friends daughter.

I worked on a banner for a friend of my son that is getting married in April and hubby and I went out to dinner for Valentine's Day.

The end of the week was the most exciting. Our son and daughter in law invited us out to lunch, I thought for Valentine's Day, but they surprised us with a big announcement. They just found out that they are expecting baby #2. We are sooooo excited. Khloë will be a big sister.

I used Cricut cartridge Birthday Bash for this cute title card. I love this kangaroo with the baby roo in the pouch. I cut them out at 3". The birds holding the 'surprise' banner is also from Birthday Bash and cut at 2".

Other things this week were cleaning and making Thank You notes. Nothing that compares to baby news!

St. Patrick's Day Drink

Another project for the Cricut FANatics blog. Now that we're in March I thought I would share some glasses I made with vinyl. Add a little green beer and you're set to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

For the mustache I used Paper Doll Dress Up. For the name Mike I used Birthday Bash and for the lips I used Indie Art. Happy March everyone.
Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.
