Be Merry-December Daily-Day 19 and 20

This page makes me giggle. My dear husband was riding passenger while I drove. I got a text message on my phone and he decided to answer it since I couldn't. Of course my daughter in law (who he was answering) knew it wasn't me right away and asked if it was him. Instead of texting back he took this "selfie" and sent it to her. He surprises me sometimes with the things he does. He's not one to take pictures of himself so I had to document it.

Us girls, on the other hand, love to take our picture. Kylee is still learning, but we're teaching her while she's still young. Khloë knows what it's all about. Lol. The bottom picture was taken while I was watching the girls. Their mommy and daddy had a Christmas party to attend and I was lucky enough to spend the evening playing and posing for pictures with the girls.

December Daily-Day 17 and 18

I think this is one of my favorite pages in my album. It's very simple, but looks a little more decorated.

The strip on the left is just a piece of paper cut to fit from the Simple Stories December kit. The Christmas sticker on December 18th was a freebie I got when I placed an order for supplies. That's two more days that are done!

More Tumblers to Decorate-December Daily-Day 16

I really love these tumblers and I guess I'm not alone. My older nieces (ages 16-19 years) asked if I would make them some for Christmas. I of course went to the store and bought a whole bunch of them. I only need to make about 6, but I think I bought 20 just in case.

In the past I've only gotten the clear ones, but I'm excited to see how these colored ones turn out. The hard part will be deciding which color for which niece. I'll post an update later on how they turned out.

Time to Party-December Daily-Day 14 and 15

I'm still playing catch-up. I know I've already posted these pictures of the tumblers and the birthday girl, but this is how they look in my December Daily album.

All the kids loved their tumblers with their names on them. They also loved having their faces painted. The funny part was after I took this picture of Khloë and showed it to her. She hadn't looked in the mirror so when I showed her the picture she was all excited and laughing at herself because she had a red nose.

Merry Christmas and December Daily-Day 13

Merry Christmas. I hope you all have a safe, healthy and enjoyable holiday season. I will be with family and away from the computer for at least the day so this is just another day from my December Daily. I'm still trying to catch up, but I'm getting closer. I think.

The entire week before Khloë's birthday was a rush trying to get everything done. Mike was a sweetheart and cut out the Mickey/Minnie Mouse heads for me. These will be covered in black and used for photo props at the party.

Some of my Favorite Things and December Daily-Day12

Merry Christmas Eve.
Yumm, Krispy Kreme donuts. When I heard Krispy Kreme was having a sale where you buy one dozen donuts you get a dozen free I had to go. I just had to.

The sale was supposed to be for glazed donuts only, but by the time I got to the cashier to pay for my order they were completely out of glazed donuts. Not to panic me, the lady at the register quickly says, "This is your lucky day. Instead of plain glazed donuts you can have your choice of a dozen filled donuts." Hmmmmm, I'll have lemon and strawberry and apple and........

And no, I did not eat ALL of them myself, but yes, I do need to do a little extra exercising now. And to think I got past Thanksgiving without any extra baggage. I can't say I got through December in the same shape.

How to catch a cat

I guess it's true what they say about cats and boxes. If there's a box in the house the cat is in it. It doesn't matter what size it is or if I'm trying to use it or not. She will squeeze herself into it and claim it as her own. This has made Christmas wrapping somewhat of a challenge. Just when I find the perfect size box for the present I need to wrap Starlet see's it too.

Minnie Mouse Decorations Cont.

I found these close-up pictures of the Minnie Mouse decorations and gifts so I thought I would share.

This first Minnie Mouse was hanging out at the food table. She was cut as large as I could to fit her on a 12x24 mat using the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge.

Another large Minnie Mouse cut to fit a 12x24 mat. She was put on a stick and was holding some balloons in the front yard to greet guests to the party.

After the party my little grand-daughter wanted to keep her decorations so they went up on the wall in her bedroom.

A close-up of the cups before the polka dots were added.

I think the dots make them so much cuter. The boys got red and black. The girls got pink and black. Khloë got a special cup with a pink band around it.

I have a few more pictures of the name tags for the food, but I still have to get them on the computer. I'll be back with those later.

Minnie Mouse Birthday Party

Happy Birthday to my first born Grand-daughter Khloë. She turns 3 years old in two days. Her birthday party was on Sunday and afterwards she proclaimed: "I want my party again!" I guess it was a hit and she had a good time.

Khloë helped me put Minnie Mouse out front to greet her guests.

At the front door guests were greeted with a Minnie Mouse rug and a door hanging that announced Khloë's 3rd Birthday.

Inside there were banners .

Another picture of her birthday banner.

Another large Minnie Mouse hanging out by the food.

A cake for the Birthday Girl.

Tumblers for each of the kids with their names in vinyl. Mouse ears made with felt and goodie bags.

A large Minnie Mouse photo prop for all the kiddos. This was a lot of fun and I found the kids all asking to take their pictures. A special thanks to my friend Scrapalette at http://scrapalette.blogspot.com/2013/11/chalkboard-name-cards.html for the idea. She had a big Cricut cut out for a photo prop at the Cricut Circle Mania in Georgia.

We also had Christmas bulbs decorated with the names of the kids in vinyl that they were able to decorate on the inside.

One last picture (for now). Me and 2nd Grand-daughter Kylee.

We also made food labels and a few other banners. I'll have to see if I got any pictures of those.

Christmas Decorating and Day 8

Hubby went out and got the tree this year to surprise me, so Sunday was a day of decorating.

Our tree may not have all the newest and prettiest decorations, but I love them. They all hold happy memories and have been collected over the years. I took pictures of some of my favorites and numbered them so that my journaling could include where we got the ornament or what the significance is. I ran out of room on my journaling card though so it will be continued on the next page.

My Girls and My Lunch - Day 7

On Saturday Robin and I started working on stuff for Khloë's birthday party. One of the things we made were Minnie Mouse headbands for the kids. They took a little practice to make, but they came out really cute. We covered plastic headbands with black felt and used lots of hot glue.

I tried to get a better picture, but the only way I could get Khloë to sit still long enough to take a picture was to let her hold the Christmas lights.

Kylee was her usual helpful self. LOL.

And here is my page for December 7th.

Vinyl Tumblers and Day 6

Having a crafting day with my favorite girls is so much fun. Of course Kylee slept most of the time and didn't really help much, but Khloë is always a big help. She loves to load and unload the paper in the Cricut. Then she'll push the buttons on the Gypsy to cut our design. She was not a big fan of weeding the vinyl though. It kept getting stuck to her hands so we let Robin do that.

I really like the way these tumblers turned out. We used the Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge for the font, the Christmas Solutions cartridge for the snowflakes and the Merry and Bright cartridge for the tree.

I think we got about 12 of these done in one evening.  Of course I think the thing that took the most amount of time was deciding on the font. I tend to be very picky about fonts. We wanted a candy striped font, but didn't have one, so this was the next best thing.

As an extra little insert for my December Daily I added this picture of Mike. While I was gone crafting and Christopher was at work Mike got home from golfing and fixed Christopher's tire for him. I guess that means I have to give him his truck back.

Truck Trouble-December 5th

It was a case of the musical trucks. Thursday evening when Christopher got home from school he got out of his truck to the sound of air coming out of his tire. By the time I got home it was completely flat and he needed to go to school. So instead of fixing the tire he took my Tahoe. The next morning he took the Tahoe to work, which meant I needed to take Mike's truck to work. It's a good thing he didn't take it to go golfing.

I had a little fun at Mike's expense though. I sent him a text message saying he needed to get a new truck. Well, he called me immediately and asked what happened to his truck. "Did you wreck it?" "What happened?" I just laughed and told him now that I've adjusted the seats and the mirrors and put my jacket in it that now it's mine and he'll need a new one. He didn't think I was so funny.

December Daily - Day 4

Okay, so if I thought I was cold yesterday, now I'm totally freezing. The proof is in the forecast. The weatherman is calling for a freeze warning. The display in the car this morning had a warning that there might be ice on the road! I have decided one of the best inventions (that I will definitely get with my next vehicle) is a remote start. Oh how I wish I had one now. I could be in the warm house making my hot coffee and just push a button to start the car and it can be all toasty warm by the time I get outside. That's the way it should be.
Well, enough of my dreaming. You get the point. It's cold! So the dogs, who usually sleep outside or in the garage (they have a doggie door) had to come in the house because I didn't want to wake up in the morning to popsicle puppies. Scooter, the old guy on the right, was perfectly happy to come inside and enjoy the warmth. Little Miss Coco Puff was not so happy. Well, she was happy pulling out all the puppy toys and destroying the house, but then she was pacing the floor panting and wanting to go outside. I guess the cold weather breed (St Bernard) in her prefers the cold. Finally around 10:00 at night I gave into her wanting out. I was afraid of what I might find this morning, but to my amazement she was in the garage and as happy as she could be. Unlike me, she really does like the cold. Silly girl.

December Daily - Day 3

Another day done!

I didn't want to use a picture of the presents I got on this day because they're supposed to be a surprise and the recipients might see this post. I will probably add a hidden tag with more details. The funny part about the picture is that I was freezing while running around shopping, but instead of getting a hot coffee at Starbucks I got a COLD frappuchino. That is part of the reason I'm late posting my December 3rd, because when I got home I got under a blanket and didn't want to come out to work on my December Daily. I sat on the couch, under my blanket and printed the picture from my phone wirelessly. Awe, you gotta love technology.

December Daily - Day 1 and 2

Do you ever have that feeling like everything is going too well? I've been feeling pretty good lately. Thanksgiving was a success, Black Friday shopping was a success, the weekend was great and the first Monday of the month was quiet around the office. Well, all of that has come to a screeching halt. My younger son went home from work yesterday with a stomach flu. When I got to the house and saw his truck I knew he must have really been sick because he never misses work. Sure enough he was in bed and every hour or so running to the bathroom. At 9:30 last night I was up cleaning the entire bathroom and disinfecting everything with a hand towel over my mouth and nose, telling my son, "I'm sorry, but I don't want to get sick".

Here is a picture of the inside cover for my December Daily. Not sure what exactly I'll write on this page, but I'll put something there. Maybe a recap of the year.

December 1st I did some Christmas shopping and got some really good deals, like the one on the Cricut Expression. In the store they charged me $129, but on line it was only $99 so I ordered a second one on line and will (possibly) take the other one back. The one thing I wasn't able to get was the Microsoft Surface for my younger son. Every store at every location was sold out. The second picture on this page shows a list of stores and they all say "unavailable".

That takes us to December 2nd. My morning started out good. I had some baked oatmeal for breakfast that I made thanks to a friend on the Cricut message board that shared her recipe. Of course I had to be a little bad and add chocolate chips to mine. Then there is the picture of Christopher, sick in bed. I used Dr Check-up for the icons on the picture. My son is the one in the middle. LOL.

December Daily Cover

Happy December 1st my friends. I can't believe it's already December. Where did the year go? All I can say is it's a good thing for pictures and scrapbooks because sometimes I need a reminder of the days gone by.

This will be my second year doing a December Daily. I just glanced at last year's Daily and I'm really glad I have it. This year we have a new baby in the family to add to the album. It will be neat to see how much she changes in a month.

Here is a picture of my cover for this year:

The album is a Snap album and the papers are from Simple Stories December Documented set. I cut out December 2013 with my Cricut Quarter Note cartridge at 1 1/2 inches. The blue and white polka dotted snow flakes in the background were cut from Cheerful Seasons at 4, 3 1/2 and 3 inches. The ribbon on the side is something I found in my drawer.

Vinyl Project

A little break from Minnie Mouse. Over the weekend (yes, it took a weekend) my daughter in law and I worked on a vinyl project for her and my son's room. It's a quote she found on Pinterest.

Although it took a long time to decide on the fonts (Plantin Schoolbook and Quarternote) and the sizes (4" & 5" respectively) it was worth it. I love the way it turned out.

I closer picture.

Friends and Photos Layout

During my grand-daughters birthday party I want to get a picture of each of the kids that I can print out and send home with them. I will also print a copy for her birthday album. This page will be the beginning of that section of the album. The font is from Mickey Font, cut at 1 inch. Minnie Mouse is from Mickey and Friends, cut at 6 inches.

I'm hoping to have a cardboard cut-out of a Minnie/Mickey head with the center cut out so that the kiddos can hold it up and put their faces through the middle for their picture. The film strip is from Mickey and Friends, cut at 6 inches wide.

I also want to capture the penmanship of the kids so I will have one slot for their picture and one for their name that they write themselves or a handprint if they are too young for writing. Heart that Mouse is cut from Mickey and Friends at 2.75 inches.

Another Minnie mini Layout

Another layout for the Minnie Mouse album. I am loving these big polka dots. I used the Mickey Font cartridge again for the word Minnie, cut at 2.75 inches. The flowers were made using Stampin' Up punches.

I'm only a couple of pages in and I already love this album. As I'm making it I'm getting ideas for decorations and props for the party. More on that in another post.

Minnie Mouse Layout

I'm starting a Minnie Mouse mini book for Khloë for her 3rd birthday. Hopefully next summer we'll be able to make a trip to Disneyland so she can see the real thing.

I went to the local scrapbook expo over the weekend to search for paper and ideas. I found out real quick that most Minnie items are made using the traditional Mickey colors with Red, Yellow, black and white. I picked up a couple of the traditional colored page kits and used them for ideas.

I think it's so much cuter in pink.

I used the Mickey Font cartridge for the word Mouse and for the Minnie head with bow. For the little tags I used a Close to My Heart alphabet stamp set.

Happy Christmas Layout

I don't know about you, but Christmas is coming way too fast for me. I can't believe we're already in November and Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away.  As much as I love shopping I'm not ready for Black Friday. I don't have a clue what I'm buying for anyone. Can we just slow down time and add a few more hours to the day? Or at least a few more hours to the weekends?

Today I have a single 12x12 page. I have always liked this Christmas tree on the Christmas Solutions cartridge and it's the reason I bought the cartridge. I cut the tree at 8 inches. The title was cut at 1.5 inches.

When I look at these pictures they make me smile. I was watching Khloë one evening while my son and daughter-in-law went to a company Christmas party. We decided to go to the grocery store for some goodies and she insisted on picking out her own outfit. Don't you just love the rain coat and spring hat together? And yes, she wore it all through the store! It was neither sunny outside or raining. LOL.
Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.
