Summer Fun - Close to my Heart

Yay, it's FRIDAY!!! We made it. It's been a long week and I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. No plans as of right now other than a relaxing weekend. We're supposed to have nice weather. I can hardly wait for summer to be here. The weather is so confusing right now. One day we have 80 degree weather and the two days later we have 59 degrees and rain.
So to cheer me up and remind me that summer will be here eventually I made a double page layout using this one page from the Close to my Heart Idea Book. I'm slowly working my way through the book and making everything that catches my eye. So far I have wanted to make everything I've seen. Here's a picture of the book.

I had so much fun making this layout. It's just so fun and colorful. I used the Close to my Heart Art Philosophy cartridge for all of the cuts.

All of the papers and accessories are from my stash. I didn't have any Close to my Heart papers so I just used what I had and made it work. I think it turned out pretty good. In the middle of the stars I added a dot of Pearl drops. For the blue piece of paper on the bottom I didn't have a patterned paper that I liked (or matched) so I made my own. I used a clear stamp and randomly stamped the plain blue paper all over. The buttons came from a jar I've had around for a few years.

It's hard to tell from a picture, but there is some dimension on these pages. The pennants under the word summer are chipboard pieces that came with the Art Philosophy kit. Also in the kit were some clear stamps which I used on some of the stars and the yellow piece (not sure what it's called) behind the blue piece of paper on the top.

Now I just need to get to the beach and have some fun caught on camera! Have a wonderful weekend.
