11 pictures on 2 pages!

Happy Wednesday. Half way through the work week. Today's pages have a lot of pictures. They all went together so I didn't want to separate them. I love the first two pictures with both of my boys. I can see such caring in my older sons face. He really looked worried that his baby brother was upset. I used the same papers as I did in yesterdays layout. The patterned paper is Creative Memories, the White cardstock is Colorbok and the dark blue is Bazzill. I was very interested to see how the Colorbok and Bazzill compared when cutting in my Expression machine. I must say they both did very well. The cuts were clean and crisp with both papers. The Bazzill is a heavier paper, but I like both brands. The font is from the Boys will be Boys Cricut Cartridge again. I'm really glad I was able to get so many pictures on these two pages. I still have so many to scrapbook, so the more on a page the better. What do you think? Do you put a lot of pictures on your pages or do you emphasize one special picture to a page? I like to do both, but have way too many pictures to do a lot of the one picture to a page ones. The next couple of layouts I'm working on will show cuts from the Nursery Rhyme's cartridge. I'm not quite finished with it yet, but so far so good. Come back again and check it out.

15 Days Old

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Can you believe we're almost to the end of March already? Where did this month go? We've had so much rain here that I feel like the month was wasted. I wasn't feeling like doing anything in the yucky weather. I'm a  girl that needs her vitamin D! So, yesterday was the first day in over a week that we had sunshine and I had to get out of the house. I went shopping, got take-out for dinner and just enjoyed the day. It was so nice and the day seemed so much longer.   Lets hope the sun decides to stick around.
Todays layout was made using a few different kinds of paper. The patterned paper and the journaling block are from Creative Memories. The White cardstock is Colorbok and the blue is Bazzill.  I used Stampin' Up punches for the scallop border and the label tags. The font for this one is from the  Boys will be Boys Cricut cartridge. I really like how it turned out and that I was able to get a lot of pictures on two pages. My baby looks so tiny in these pictures now that I'm looking back, but he was almost 9 lbs when he was born! Thanks for stopping by.

7 months old

Another simple layout today. My little man at 7 months. No Cricut cuts and not a lot of decorating, but I'm glad I was able to get a lot of pictures on these pages. I have so many I still need to finish, so the more on a page the better. I hope everyone had a good weekend. See you again soon.

Handsome little guy layout

My two boys. Aren't they the cutest? It's so nice to look back at these pictures of them together. It seems like just yesterday. It's hard to believe my older son is already married and has a baby of his own and my younger son is in college. Where does the time go? Thank goodness for pictures. At least I have proof they were young once.

Little Sprout layout

Happy Friday everyone. I had to share with you some of my favorite pictures of my son. He was only 8 months old and determined to walk. He didn't even mind when he lost his balance and fell. He laughed the whole time. He was quite the little wild man with a hairdo to match. Every time I look at these pictures I can't help but smile. The tag and patterned papers are from the Deja Vu kit again.

Simple Moments layout

Yay, another layout done. This one is pretty simple. No Cricut cuts this time, but at least I'm making progress on the album. The vellum sentiments are from Creative Memories. The patterned papers are from a Deja Vu's paper kit.

Imagine Baby layout

Still working on baby layouts. This one was made with my new Imagine and the Nursery Tails cartridge. I also used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch. I love this cartridge. The images are so soft and adorable for baby pages.
The layering of these images are also super easy to put together. I think I will be using this cartridge a lot while putting together my son's album.

Sympathy card

I was asked to make a sympathy card tonight and couldn't come up with anything. This type of card has got to be the hardest of all cards to make. I finally decided to pick up some catalogs for inspiration. I came across a card in an old Close to my Heart catalog that caught my attention and this is what came out of it. I've never made a sympathy card before so I hope this one is okay. I would love some opinions. The inside sentiment was printed from my home printer, but was also taken from the Close to my Heart catalog.
I think it turned out nice  for short notice and my first time. Tomorrow I'll be back with a happier subject - a baby layout. Thanks for stoppin' by.

What is Love? Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Saturday everyone. I hope you're all enjoying the projects so far and getting lots of inspiration along the way. Our host is Dawn (AKA Nurse Viper) at  ScrappyRN. If you didn't start at her blog you can click her link to start at the beginning. She is very talented and  makes beautiful projects. I was so excited when she invited me to join her for this hop. I was also a little nervous. I have never participated in a blog hop before so I hope I do everything right.
Dawn asked us to post projects that are all about Love. What does love mean to you? What do you think of when you think about love? Do you think about family? A special pet? A certain food? Vacation spot? Maybe a favorite hobby?

For my project today I was trying to use some of the cartridges I have, but have never used before. (Shhhhh, don't tell my hubby, but I had 27 cartridges that had never been used). Thanks to Dawn and this blog hop I'm now down to 25 not-yet-used cartridges.
Ok, back to my project. The first thing I think about when I'm asked what Love means to me is my family. While I was looking for pictures to use on my layout I came across these pictures. They were taken the day my younger son was born and he was able to meet his big brother for the very first time.
I used two fonts for the title. The first font is from the Cricut Cartridge called Cuttin' Up, cut at 2". Then I used Boys will be Boys to cut Big brother at 2.75". The baby face, bottle and duck were all cut from Doodlecharms at 2 and 3". The large circles in the background were cut using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge at 12" and 10".
Just for fun I wanted to also add this picture of our cats. I must REALLY love them too because I didn't even get mad when I walked into my scrapbook room and noticed they had pulled out all of this orange filler and threw it everywhere!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Below is a list of all the bloggers participating. If you would like to go back and take another look at any of their blogs you can click on their link and it will take you there, but don't forget to leave a comment before you go. I will be drawing a name from the comments section for some secret blog candy so be sure to leave a way to contact you in case your name is drawn. I would also love it if you would become a follower of my blog if you aren't already.

Blog Hop Scheduled!

I'm so excited to be participating in my very first blog hop on Saturday. The hop will be hosted by Dawn (AKA NurseViper) at ScrappyRN. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.
The theme of the Hop will be all about Love. I have a cute project I'm working on now and will hopefully have another one done before the Hop starts. Be sure to stop by on Saturday to see what I have and for the links to all the other blogs.

Ruler Birthday Card with Imagine

As soon as I saw the ruler artwork on the Imagine More cartridge I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. My Dad's birthday is this month and I've been saving this idea in my head for 10 months for just this occasion. I think he'll find the humor in it and enjoy the card. I used Imagine More for all the layers to go with the ruler. Once again I didn't know how to size anything so they were cut at the default size which is 2". I know, I know, I should really learn the sizing thing, but so far it has worked out okay. I promise to learn for my next project. I'm sure it can't be too hard, right? The sentiment was a quote I heard some time last year and I just printed off my computer.
For the inside of the card I finished off the sentiment from my computer and then added a crown cut at 1.75" from the Alphalicious cartridge.

Happy Birthday Dad!

First Day layout

Another layout done for my son's baby album. I used a few different cartridges for this one. The large scallop circle was cut at 10" from Storybook, the large circles were cut at 8.5" and 7.75" from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and the title, Christopher, was cut at 1.75" from the Feeling Groovy cartridge.
These are pictures from the first day after the first night at home. I think Daddy may have needed a nap too.  Come back tomorrow to see another Imagine project. Cindy

First Imagine project

I got my Imagine last week and I'm slowly learning how to use it. So far I already LOVE it. I made this "get well" card for my little grand-daughter Khloe. She's only 12 weeks old and has her first ear infection. Poor baby. I wish a kiss from Grandma could take it all away. Luckily her mommy took her to the doctor right away and got her some medicine. She is feeling a little better already.
Okay, back to the card. The number one reason I chose to buy an Imagine machine (besides the awesome sale at Cricut.com) was because of my Grand-daughter and the Nursery Tails cartridge. I think the artwork on this cartridge is the most beautiful I have seen. I used it to make this card. I wasn't sure how to set the size so the layers cut out at the default size (I think 2"). The sentiment is from the Fun and Fast Notes stamp set by Stampin' Up.
For the inside of the card I added another butterfly and dragonfly from the Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge. Then I used my Exprssion to cut out "Khloe" with the Feeling Groovy Lite cartridge. I didn't want to spend so much money for a Lite cartridge, but I think it really is my all-time favorite font.

I hope my little Khloe bug feels better quickly and that she likes the card I made her.

Guest Designer

My guest designer today is Michelle. She has been experimenting with her brand new Cricut Cake Mini. She has been making some beautiful cakes.  The first two she made were for her daughters Allie and Brianna.
This is a picture of Allie and Brianna with the cakes made by their wonderful Mom.

Imagine is here!

Oh my gosh my new Imagine machine came today! I really wasn't going to buy one, but then the price was too good to pass up. I just ordered it on Sunday night and it came today. Just 3 days later. I was able to take it out of the box, but I had to leave for school so I wasn't able to plug it in or play with it yet. I will post again once I'm able to actually use it. (I hope I can figure it out). I guess I should watch some videos on using it. Here are a few pictures. It was packed very well - in 3 boxes. The machine came with a mat, a sheet of printable vinyl and the Imagine More cartridge. There was also a DVD (getting to know your Imagine) in the box. I'll watch that before I get started. Stay tuned for lots of updates.

Sleepy baby layout

Another baby layout. These are pictures of my son on his first day home. He looks so tiny, but he was almost 9 pounds! I used Nursery Rhymes for the title on this one.

I will do better!

I feel so bad. I have been so busy that I haven't been able to spend much time on my blog. I've been posting my layouts, but I haven't been able to pass along the wonderful blog awards I've gotten lately and thank the wonderfully nice people that passed them to me. I'm gonna take one award at a time and work on it. Todays award was given to me by two people. Thank you so much Tanya from Nonnascraftcorner.blogspot.com and Nancy from lanancyworkshop.blogspot.com. I feel so honored.
The Liebster Blog Award is designed to recognize bloggers who have fewer than 300 followers, but put much love into their work. To accept the award, I am to spread the love recognizing up to 5 blogs whose work I admire and follow. The blogs I have chosen are:

1. Dayna at sabrioletdesigns.blogspot.com
2. Kbear at bigsmilesfromkbear.blogspot.com
3. Lisa at aruplife.blogspot.com
4. Lauren at lem-photography.blogspot.com
5. Julie at juliescraftyspot.blogspot.com

Bath Time layout

I think this layout came out so cute. I love the New Arrival cartridge for baby pages. The title and the tub were both cut from this cartridge. I also added glossy accents to the drops of water and the bubbles in the title.  I haven't added the pictures yet because I still need to scan and print them. The long white mat on the right side will be for journaling.  Hope everyone had a good weekend full of crafty fun.

Baby's first visitors

We are so lucky to have our family close to us. We had lots of visitors in the hospital to help us welcome Christopher to the family. Our second little boy was also the second grand-baby on both sides of the family so everyone was happy to have another baby to hold after 3 years.

100% Boy

I just love these "first day" pictures. I had forgotten how much hair Christopher had and how red it was. He is  a total blond now. No trace of red at all. His dad and I were so happy to have another boy.

Baby Boy layout

Yay, another layout done. Of course all of these pictures so far have been of the first day of birth and I still have months and months to do just to finish my baby boys first year. I'll get there. It just might take me MONTHS AND MONTHS! Hopefully not. As I'm going back to work on this album I'm still taking pictures for future albums. Time doesn't stand still and it certainly isn't going to wait for me to get caught up.
Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.
