Puppy Shame

If you've been following my blog you know we have a new puppy named Coco. Cute and super sweet, but she is still a puppy. Sometimes I think the word puppy is synonymous with trouble. After all, you have to go through teething, house breaking, obedience training, manners and all sorts of other things. Well, among those other things seems to be plant eating!

I bought several plants for the backyard and was going to plant them today, but it started raining. I left the plants where I wanted them planted and went into the house. Moments later I looked out the window and saw fresh soil on the lawn. I went outside to find plants knocked over and one completely missing.

After searching the yard I found the missing plant. Half eaten, ripped out of the pot and no soil left on the roots.

We decided it was time to teach her a lesson and shame her so that she wouldn't do it again.

Unfortunately it didn't work. The sign just gave her something else to eat!

My Life Monday - Project Life Week 17

My week in a nutshell. First things first, I flew home from Georgia and then took a long nap. LOL.

Christopher came in the house covered in grease because he was helping a neighbor friend work on his car.  Khloë showing off her big sister shirt. Cricut plushie and a penguin from the Cheesecake Factory.

Khloë loves her penguin. She also liked the little Cricut vinyl I brought her. She introduced the two of them to each other and then they played. Khloë and I also played outside on her swing set and then we found some ladybugs.

Coco had her last puppy shots and also rode in the car for the first time without being in her crate. She did pretty well and enjoyed looking out the window.

Rounding out the week was a yummy Sunday morning breakfast of fresh fruit and French Vanilla coffee.

Cricut Cuts:
Cat silhouettes cut from Kate's ABC's at 3"
Little girl cut from Baby Steps at 3"
Fun Day Out cut from Baby Steps at 1.75"
Slide cut from Locker Talk at 3.5"
Dog cut from Nate's ABC's at 2"

My Life Monday - Project Life week 16

I'm slowly catching up. But as you can see I'm still behind. This is week 16, which was a month ago.

These are mostly pictures of my days leading up to my trip to the Georgia Circle Mania and my time while I was there. I had my nails painted Cricut green and I went to have my hair trimmed and colored so it didn't drive me crazy while I was in Georgia.

While I was waiting for my flight I got a little bored so I snapped the picture of my plane as it was getting ready for boarding. The second picture was when a man came to the hotel and was selling scrapbook stuff out of the back of his van. LOL (-:

While I was away my family sent me pictures of the things going on at home. Our new puppy Coco met the neighbor girl and another neighbors rottweiler. Khloë had Krispy Kreme donuts without me and Coco decided she was very comfortable in her new home with a comfy bed. The last picture is hard to see, but it's the pasta alfredo and strawberry daiquiri I had for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory my last night in Georgia.

My Life Monday - week 15

Hello Crafty friends. I hope you had a good weekend. They always go by so fast and now we're back to Monday AGAIN. We're having more and more beautiful days lately. The temperatures are warming up and dogs are enjoying time in the kiddie pool.

April 13th had a lot of activities jammed into one day. It started out with us driving to our son and daughter-in-laws house. We went to Khloë's gymnastics class and watched her. Then we took her to lunch at Chevy's. After lunch we went back to the house and loaded up a couple of trees to take to my Mom's house. It was my Mom's birthday so we were going to go visit her and take her out to dinner so it was a perfect time to take the trees. We had taken them out of the ground to make room for Khloë's play set. My sister is thinking of getting married in the yard at my Mom's house so we're working on the landscaping.

There are two Indian Casino's by my Mom's house so we all ended up going to one of them for dinner. I can't handle being in the smoke and I'm not lucky at gambling so I went outside to wait. That's where hubby found me and I snapped the bottom right picture. This was in the evening, but the weather was nice and warm and the sun was still shining. I love these longer days.

Concentration Layout - NSD #7

I love this picture of Khloë at gymnastics class. She was concentrating so hard on that balancing beam. I chose this picture to make a layout for the National Scrapbook Day challenge on the Cricut Circle message board and on the blog of Sara, which can be seen here. The challenge is to have a big picture or title on a project. I printed my picture at 8 1/2 x 11".

For this layout I used Plantin Schoolbook for the title, cut at 1.75". The large flowery cuts are from Sophie and were cut at 4 and 4.5". The smaller flower on top was cut using Stampin Up punches and a pearl brad. The butterflies and the pieces at the top right corner were also cut with Stampin Up punches.

One Sheet Wonder - NSD Project #6

Today's project was made using a single sheet of 12x12 cardstock for the album. I cut the cardstock in 3  strips measuring 4" wide and 12" long. I scored them every 4" and glued end to end.

I kept the book pretty simple because I will be giving it to Khloë who will probably try pulling all the pieces off before the day is over.

I wanted it to have colors and numbers so Khloë can practice.

Khloë's favorite part of the book was the one with the 8 suns. She liked all the faces and made them herself as she said 'happy', 'sad', 'angry', 'wink wink'.

More Mothers Day Cards

After making the easel card/Mother's Day card for the Scrapbook Day challenge I realized I needed a couple more. I decided to try some other colors and I love the way they came out.
Here they are:

This picture is  a little better, but you can see my messy desk in the background. (-:

I thought for sure pink was the best color for a Mother's Day card, but now that I have them done in purple and yellow as well I'm not sure which one is my favorite.

And a close-up of the purple and yellow. The butterflies and leaves are from the Sophie cartridge. Butterflies from page 27 and cut at 1.5". The leaves are from page 41 and cut at 2.5" and 2.7".

The original card I made using Spellbinders dies to cut the centers out. For the new cards I used my gypsy and picked a shape from the Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge to cut out the center. Then I used that same piece to make the inside of the card. Yep, double duty with one cut. Lots of layering and a little stamping, oh and don't forget the bling. (-:

The shape I used from Just Because Cards for the center is from page 27. It's the image you get when you push the shift button on the watermelon card. On the colored piece of cardstock that is cut at 4.75" x 4.75" I centered the image and cut it at 2.88". Then I cut the white top layer of cardstock at 4.5" x 4.5" and cut the same image out of the center at 3.15". The card is 5" x 5" when closed.

A Beautiful Gift

I have to share this beautiful gift I received from a Cricut Circle friend while I was in Georgia.

My wonderful friend Barbara that I was finally able to meet in person gave me this mixed media art that she personally made. It is so unique and beautiful. It was the first thing I unpacked when I got home from Circle Mania. I knew exactly where I would hang it - on my art wall in my scraproom. I am absolutely NOT an artist so I leave the space free for Khloë's art and now my cherished piece of art from Barbara. Isn't it beautiful?

I also really love the quote - She believed she could, so she did. This piece of art is such an inspiration to me. I love that it's the first thing I see when I walk into my favorite room of the house.

My Life Monday - Week 14

My Life back on track. I'm getting there slowly, but I am definitely getting there. I have week 14 to share today.

April 1st through the 7th included lazy days (mostly by all the animals), busy days (mostly my husband. LOL) and a mix of weather. We had beautiful blue skies one day, rain the next and then back to blue skies and warmer temps.

On Monday I received my Project Life order from HSN. I got the new Blush and Jade kits by Becky Higgins and they are gorgeous.

Now that the temperatures are warmer the snakes have come out of hibernation (sorry for mentioning them Donna). I would love to give them away, but for now they are still in our care.

Coco, the puppy, is teething so she is doing a lot of chewing. Luckily she hasn't chewed anything up that she shouldn't. Of course that rug that she has in her mouth was supposed to be in the doghouse, not in the middle of the lawn being chewed on!
See you back soon. Cindy

You're a Hoot - card, NSD Project #5

For this challenge I needed to use an owl in my project.

I will send this card to my grand-daughter. I think she will like the googly eyes. The owl and the branch are both from Straight From the Nest.

Down on the Farm layout - NSD project #3 & 4

A layout for my sister who went to the Donkey Derby WITHOUT ME! Shame on her, but I still love her!

This challenge was to use a barnyard animal. I knew exactly which pictures to use because my sister just posted these donkey photos on her facebook page.

For all the Cricut cuts except for the title I used the Cricut Circle Exclusive Pop Up Neighborhood.

For the title I used Boys will be Boys. I also used some buttons and some twine on the layout.

I will also add this layout to another challenge to add dimension to your items, posted by Nadia at With Glittering Eyes blog. Instead of leaving my pieces flat I used lots of pop dots, buttons and inking to make everything stand out a little more. I did the same process on all the pieces of this layout. The tractor above is 'before' any manipulating. The tractor below is 'after'.

Mother's Day card - NSD Project #2

I'm back with my second project today. This card was for the easel card challenge on the Circle Message Board by Gonescrappin.

For this project I had to make an easel card and use at least one Cricut cut. I used the base butterfly from page 27 on the Sophie cartridge, cut at 1.5". The leaves are from page 41 of Sophie, cut at 2.5" and 2.75". The scallop rectangles were cut using spellbinders dies.

The layers are all popped up using dimensionals from Stampin' Up. I also used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the white layer of the card and on the butterflies.

National Scrapbook Day Weekend - Project 1

One of my projects for today.... a Mother's Day Layout. Stay tuned for more projects through out the rest of today and tomorrow.

For the pennants, scallop circles, scallop border and labels I used Stampin' Up punches. I really love how easy it is to grab a punch and get the shape I want.

For Happy Mothers Day I used the Cricut cartridge Quarter Note. That is my favorite font for welding pretty letters together.

The challenge on the Cricut Circle messageboard was to pick three items in a row from a tic tac toe board. I chose to use a flower image, buttons and ribbon (instead of ribbon I used twine though). I also used my Gypsy to weld, bling and brads which were in some of the other boxes to choose from. So I guess I used a row going down in the first column and a row going horizontal on the bottom from the challenge.

Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.
